KURT!!!  That song was so awful (out of tune, eh?) it was WONDERFUL!  Although I knew the tune (since about, 1957??), I listened eagerly, to hear what you'd done with it.
Really liked the Ahkna profile, too!

Uh, it's part Farscape, part Lost, part Borgle (by Daniel Pinkwater), and whatever else came up during the meetings.  Plus, it is our philosophy that it's OK to interpret what writers write, even if it's not the original intent.  Right Nicola?

Absolutely.   :)   All entertainment (including the Scapecast) depends on the audience's response.  And every single member of the audience is different.  What one person sees in a show is not always going to be what someone else sees - and that is fine.   Neither is wrong - and both are right.  :D

THANK YOU Janis, for the article on my favorite movie ever (and its Farscape comparison). I could talk for arns about that film. Poor Scotty. Unrequited love sucks more than anything in the world.

I would've commented on this episode sooner, but I've been busy recovering from a nasty cold. :( I'm nearly better, thankfully. Hopefully I'll be well enough to go visit my older brothers tomorrow. Anyway, everything was great! I really liked Janis' article which compared that classic movie Vertigo to Aeryn's predicament when it came to losing Crichton and then having him alive again. I also liked the character review of Ahkna. She's a fascinating character, and it's kinda weird to watch, given that Ben Browder and Francesca Buller are married in real life.

The holiday fliks you guys make every year never cease to crack me up, and occasionally make me feel a little sentimental. I especially enjoyed the Farscape twist on that age-old poem "Twas The Night Before Christmas". :D I look forward finding out what that second story arc in the Farscape comics is gonna entail. I hope that Keith and Rockne will tell us what the basic story is. With a title like "Strange Detractors", it truly gives me mixed feelings of foreboding and excitement! Keep up the brilliant work and as Crackers said, "Merry Frelling Christmas, and the draddest New Year!" ;D

Thanks, all, for your kind words on Aeryn/Vertigo -- especially you, BenMech!  Since you'd said Vertigo was your fave, I was hoping you'd like the article!  Didn't Sammy do a great edit job?  Some of those quotes were shortened; she made them sound like they came right off the DVD like that.

Hope all of you at the Scapecast are having a good holiday so far and all the best for 2009.

Really enjoyed the Aeryn and Vertigo discussion - lots of interesting points - plus I am now hoping to watch the movie again soon. Thanks Janice.

After listening to the Ahkna review I am so hoping that she really does have a sister hanging around waiting to revenge her death - by coming after Aeryn. Evil female villains are so much fun.

The holiday bits are great and very entertaining.

Currently starting over with the Scapecast, currently Scapecast #9 plus just finished this one. Quite a journey so far and yet every ep finds something new to discover. Keep up the great podcasting.  :-*

...loved all the Holiday Filk  :D

   Ahkna PK review

...it's so true " Hell hath no fury like a War Minister scorned !! " ...Great article by Penny Sullivan explaining Ahkna's role and her ultimate downfall when she let her emotions take over...

   Aeryn's Vertigo

...what a clever idea Janis had paralleling the movie Vertigo with Aeryn and the two Johns...i really liked hearing this part of the FS story though Aeryn's perspective...very well done !

...tons of great books everyone recommended ...i will have to try many of them...

what no Bloopers ?? you guys had no mistakes !!

Brent...cute slip of the tongue doing the wrong show :D
Lindy...missed your quick wit and your infectious laugh  :)
Kevin...was an unexpected pleasure hearing you say that your listeners are becoming part of
          a big family  :)
Why be normal ?

That was (another) fun show!

Tralk Talk
Rosalyn was wondering how many random references you all could fit in one episode of TT.  You may have answered that question... for now.   ;)

Christmas Time on Moya written and performed by Arlo Williams
Nicely done.  Definitely a fun filk.

The Rise and Fall of the Black Queen: Ahkna in Peacekeeper Wars by Penny Sullivan
Beautifully written, Penny.  I enjoyed this one, though I missed having music with the article.

Moyans Christmas written and performed by Kurt Armbruster
Another fun filk, Kurt.  Thanks!

Aeryn's Vertigo by Janis Keating
That was a great article, Janis.  Rosalyn enjoyed it too -- I promised her cookies for coming to the Dark Side and listening to the show.  I need to see the movie now.

A Visit From St. Nicholas written and read by Chris Polansky
Just as good as I remember from the recording session.  Rosalyn enjoyed listening to what she missed while hanging out with Chris's jirlfriend at the restaurant.   ;)

Thanks!

Half the fun was "researching" the song.  Did you know, that if you slow down the Chipmunks by about 40%, Alvin sounds suspiciously like our very own Hank? ;)

Are you suggesting that I'm really just one of Brent's recordings, sped up a little?

Having seen him at Burbank, I hereby testify that Hank is indeed a real person.  :)
