Ok, I suddenly realised I listen to way too many podcasts LOL - here's my current faves, apart from the ScapeCast of course ;)

Delta Park Project
Funny podcast with a hubby and wife team, talking about all kinds of pop culture stuff, tv shows, movie reviews, games that listeners participate in and loads of other stuff. Very well produced too, but in a sort of informal way (the team are ex-radio/tv show production people I think). In addition to the main show, they produce "Delta Park Gets Lost" which is a Lost podcast.

GeekIntertainment
This is two guys talking about all kinds of geeky stuff, tv shows, movies, games and consoles, all kinds of techy stuff, forum news and general silliness. They also produce "The Buffcast" which is all about Buffy and "Angel Investigations" which is, not surprisingly, about Angel the Series.

The Signal
The Signal! Do I need to say more?

Week in Whedon
Another hubby and wife show talking about all things Whedon (and other stuff that they think it's cool). Features include Joss Whedon news, prop auctions info, tv and movies, books, comics all relating in some way to Joss Whedon, what they're drinking whilst producing the podcast etc..

JossCentricality
Another Joss Whedon related podcast from a group of Aussies. Quite funny with lots of news and general good fun to listen to

Two Geeks, A Mic and a Podcast
Two more geeky but endearing guys talking about comics, tv shows, movies etc... They produced a stand-alone podcast on Serenity, and are producing a Smallville related podcast called "MeteorGeek".

Joe Cartoon
This is a long-time favourite of mine, has a separate website for other animations too (click here). The podcast contains quite a few animations, erm.. kinda weird, but I like it when I'm in the right mood LOL.

That's all for now. Enjoy ;D

Ok, I don't listen to it, but I do create it, come over to www.phazecast.com The website looks pretty bad (but it will improve, I promise) and I've only got a 15 min basic intro cast up, but come over and join my forums, tell me stuff please.

Phasedout,

Good luck with the new cast!

If you're going to be doing regular casts you might want to consider using a service like Libsyn to host your podcasts because they have some very inexpensive 'flat rate' plans in case your current provider charges for bandwidth.

Take care,

Kevin

Wow, I listen to way too many podcasts, too.  While I'm working, in the garden, while I'm knitting...

Right now I'm listening to:

Scapecast, of course...
Slice of Scifi
Revelations & Come Let Me Whisper
Scott Sigler's Infection
Lynne's Scifi Video Newscast
Geek Fu Action Grip
Thing A Week
Variant Frequencies
Escape Pod
7th Son: Descent

I also have my own podcast, KnitWitch's Scifi/Fantasy Zone and the next episode will be showing my love of Farscape for a good part of the episode, including a Farscape fan fiction piece as the featured story!  Hope you'll check it out!

thanks Kevin, but my current provider (godaddy.com) gives me 250,000Mb of transfer per month (plus domain name registration) for $52 and some change for the year , doubt I'll get a better deal elsewhere.

I've been listening to a number of Podiobooks lately ( http://www.podiobooks.com ) including:

Scott Sigler's The Rookie about a football league 500 years in the future, where Linebackers have 4 legs, and bench 2000 lbs!

And

J.C. Hutchins' 7th Son Trilogy about 7 Clones tasked to find and stop a madman.  Who happens to be the person they've been cloned from!

And 7th Son just released a cool announcement!  Nathan Fillion will appear in the November 14th episode!

Check out the story at http://www.jchutchins.net or at http://www.podiobooks.com

I'm renewing this Thread

I found this new podcast; thru Ira Glass' reccomendation @ This American Life.

From WNYC:  called  Radio Lab

http://www.wnyc.org/shows/radiolab/

It's very cool.
"Penny, you don't want to get into it with Sheldon.  The guy is one lab accident away from being a Super Villian," Leonard from the BBT
"There's always a place to insert a sex toy," Rockne O'Bannon to David Franklin; 11/4/07
"We were really having a good laughey time so it didn't seem right to bring up the fact that they were idiots," Dan the SC Roadie

I only discovered podcasts in the past 2 weeks -- YOURS!
And, since I enjoy it so much, and want to know everything that's transpired, I downloaded all of them and am walking around most of the day, plugged in.

I resisted podcasts for so long because I don't like talk radio, and I figured that was pretty much the format.  But you all have pleasant voices, you seem to really enjoy what you do (one of the reasons I listen to NPR's "Car Talk"), and you're talking about something I'm interested in.  That's probably the most important reason.  Over the years, I've been able to discuss Star Trek and Star Wars with a variety of people -- but none of my friends ever got into Farscape (of course, I likely irritated them by thinking B5 was hokey) -- so it's really nice to hear what other folks think of one-of-my-all-time favorite shows.

And it's better than playing in traffic!   ;D

You might want to spread out your listening choices so you can make our episodes last a little longer.  :)

There are several other excellent Scifi podcasts listed earlier in the thread so you can throw in one or two of those in between ScapeCast episodes to keep the joy going.
