What is your favourite way to listen to podcasts?
« on: April 05, 2006, 11:27:42 AM »
Thanks for letting us know!

I've created the poll, so that if your methods change, you can reflect that here.

I also have made it so that you can pick any (or all) categories.

For example:  I usually listen on my iPod, but sometimes (if I forget it at home) I'll download an episode an play it on my workstation in the office, or I'll use the podcast's media streaming software.

Thanks for helping us out!
Kurt

My daughter has a SanDisk player.  Neat little gizmos.  :)  Does yours take an optional flash memory card too?  I think that's a cool feature, because the player's capacity will grow beyond the 2GB she has as flash card capacities grow and we slap in a new card.

No memory card options. But I don't need a great deal of memory. The only thing I don't like about it is the inability to place any kind of bookmark. I tried downloading an audiobook, but it was one long file. If I needed to leave the file and listen to something else, I couldn't return to the same place without fast-forwarding through the file. And the fast-forward was not so fast. But for half-hour podcasts, it's great.

I use a Creative MuVo V200, stated capacity is 1gb, due to the usual mathematical rip off it's actually only 953Mb. No bookmarks also (anluess you switch off it will remember where it was) and if the battery goes it forgets back to the last turn-off, otherwise I'm happy enough with it.

I mainly listen to them on my computer (downloaded all now, by the way).

I may start loading them into my mp3 player and when I go walking or when I'm at the gym.  Great way to pass the time!!

I listen via my i-pod after downloading them, but
also have them saved onto cd for listening in my
bedroom.  Listen to them on the computer also
in my i-tunes.

Happy New Year Scapecasters :)

I finally joined the 21st century and bought myself a Sansa m240 player.  Wee!  Fun toy.  Works like a regular flash drive which means I can load it up on my Linux machine.  Yay!

Cool!  My daughter had a Sansa 1GB player before we got her the iPodVideo for Christmas, so I inherited it.  :)  Yeah, I love the ones that are straight flash drives.  For that reason, of course, I hate the Apple products.  While you can copy to them like a flash drive, the iPod won't recognize the music and files you copy to it unless you use iTunes to do it... *sigh*   ::)

That's exactly the reason keeping me from investing in an iPod -- that and the numerous reports about various hardware and battery problems that seem to plague iPod owners right after the warranty expires.  I just can't justify spending $300+ on one then having to replace it in 18 months.

Mainly I listen to them on my computer, but I also have them on my Creative MuVo V100 so I can carry them around. I try to listen on my workstation as well, but there is often so much to do. And if I have the time, than suddenly peoples starting giving me weird looks because my German shipmates don’t understand a word.  ;D

I listen both on computer and Ipod.  I create a smart playlist on Itunes that way I mix them up a little bit, I do this so when I go out I have a variety of casts to listen to.

I'm addicted to the smart playlists.  Type= podcast, playcount=0 and there's always something new to listen to!
