The sound of icecubes rattling in a glass is just so podcasting ;)

Great review from Julie and certainly another cracking entry to the competition and Seans experiences make me quite happy that the UK got a fairly constant broadcast schedule even with the delay getting it across the pond.

You see that one, that's that star right there. It's my point of reference, my guide, and it always becomes the center of my chart. I always name it Aeryn.

Great 'cast!

A belated comment: I think in this episode, y'all talked about the ring John gets from his dad? And you wonder what happened to it, but decide he must have gotten it back after D'Argo lets it go in Family Ties? Well, he didn't get it back. His father asks him, in Terra Firma, where it is, when they first meet and John acts suspicious. It's a way his father confirms his identity. And John tells him he lost the ring, and Jack says that it must have worked, then.

Thanks, Quizz.  I did mention this to our hosts after they recorded that banter, but we felt it would be a good test of the listeners to let it go.  I'm glad it worked and you posted this message.  :)  Welcome.

Yeah, the whole D'Argo letting go of Yuri Gagarin's puzzle ring in "Family Ties",  was a symbolic link to Jack Crichton giving John the ring in "Premiere".   The puzzle ring symbolises the talisman or gift of great significance that the hero is given - in this case by the threshold guardian - Jack Crichton.

John giving the ring to D'Argo - an alien - and then the alien allowing the ring to drift off into space tells the audience that this universe is now John's new home, with new family.    Of course - then we get Season Two - and the universe turns out to be even more treacherous than the audience knew.   But that moment in "Family Ties" (before Season Two was confirmed for the writers), was meant to bring some kind of symbolic conclusion to John Crichton's story.   John, like the ring, adript in space.   :)
